Shut Up & Listen feat. Emma & Faith
Emma and Faith are the coolest mother daughter duo who’ve been attending our classes in Island Bay basically since day dot, so Shut Up & Listen for an insight into the weirdness they rock and what magic carpets have to do with a better world. Answer - they’d make it. A better world.
My name is Faith but my friends call me Froth. I have been coming to Shut Up & Dance since 2016 and my favourite part about it is Clair! My favourite guilty pleasure track is All day by Cody Simpson because he rhymes the word cute with shoes and it’s ridiculous but also hilarious, and it makes me think of my best friends who make me laugh all the time <3
Something that has changed since my first Shut Up & Dance class is I now own a sports bra?
The reason I keep coming back is I get to have fun with my mum while being active.
The Shut Up & Dance routine that best describes me is the Napoleon Dynamite one cause I rock my weirdness.
My life motto is I dunno. Just make every day worth remembering, even if all you remember is you wore a cute outfit or told your best friend you love them.
To pay the bills I live with my parents lol. If money was no object I would be following Lana Del Rey around the world and I would have the BEST wardrobe.
My most dorky moment this week was being caught crying to a video I found of the original Curious George stop motion show that I watched as a kid.
The world would be a better place if Club Penguin hadn’t been shut down.
The routine I want to learn the most is anything from Glee! I’m a 2000s baby, I grew up watching them break out into these crazy routines in the hallways only to discover that’s not how high school works, but I wish it was!

My name is Emma but Faith calls me Mum.
I have been coming to Shut Up & Dance since 2016 and my favourite part about it is the kick ass, uplifting vibes, that it is enjoyable exercise and getting to hang out with Faith.
My favourite guilty pleasure track is My Love by Justin Timberlake. Or Hit Me Off by New Edition. And actually it’s not a guilty pleasure it’s just pleasure :)
Something that has changed since my first Shut Up & Dance class is I now wear leg warmers on a regular basis and don’t drink on Tuesdays.
The reason I keep coming back is the laughs! The sweat! The fact that you are encouraged to be a dick. And the camaraderie. I have met so many great ladies through the classes and performances.
The Shut Up & Dance routine that best describes me is Everybody (Backstreet’s Back) cause I ain’t afraid to touch myself.
My life motto is Be Excellent To Each Other.
To pay the bills I do a million and one things from the office of Rongotai College. If money was no object I would travel a whole lot with the people I love.
My most dorky moment this week was feeling extremely upset about the new layout of Pak n Save Kilbirnie.
The world would be a better place with magic carpets.
The routine I want to learn the most is something from the 2007 version of Hairspray.
